Who I am:
I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, and I’ve seen firsthand how challenging—and rewarding—therapy can be. I specialize in trauma treatment and chose the name Connected Healing Therapy to reflect the transformative process of helping clients connect to new resources, their body, relationships, personal beliefs, skills, and more. Healing is an ongoing journey, and therapy helps you discover what works for you and supports your growth.
I am EMDR-trained, a therapy approach that helps people heal from trauma and other difficult life experiences. EMDR works by gently reprocessing distressing memories, reducing their emotional intensity, and helping your brain store them in a less painful way. I am DBT-trained and have been leading Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups for four years. In these groups, I help group member build practical skills to manage intense emotions, cope with stress, and improve relationships in a supportive, structured environment. DBT group therapy focuses on four core areas: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. I am an advanced licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive experience working with children, families, and adults facing emotional and behavioral challenges, including complex trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and other mental health challenges. I also provide training and practicum placements for student interns and associate counselors, supporting their path to licensure.
On a more personal note, I have been happily married to my best friend for 22 years. Together, we have seven children, which include four adopted. In my free time, I enjoy wake surfing, hiking, fishing, and any activity that lets me connect with nature.
